
Doug Lawyer-Smith
Founder & CEO
Doug has invested over 25 years in business consulting helping clients better their people, processes, and technology. The most fulfilling part of Doug's career has always been connecting with clients and colleagues to understand what they are trying to accomplish and how he can help them creatively solve their problems.
Doug has developed and delivered all types of training courses including onboarding, sales effectiveness, change management, internal controls, system implementations, team building, software packages, client service, accounting concepts, and soft skills.
Doug started his career at Cummins after graduating from Indiana University with a BS in Accounting and a minor in German. Prior to founding SweetWork, he also spent time in public accounting and consulting with Arthur Andersen, Ernst & Young, MarketSphere (now Grant Thornton), and RGP.

Michelle Brown
COO
Michelle has a breadth of experience from her 25+ years in the business, professional association, and higher education sectors with 12+ years developing collaborative, strategy-driven, winning responses to multi-million dollar managed care proposals.
Michelle is adept at strategizing and evaluating opportunities and facilitating client interviews in order to develop clear and impactful content. Her skills include mentoring; process evaluation and improvement; and developing policies and procedures, user guides, and instruction manuals. At SweetWork, she oversees operations and focuses on strategy, research, and content development.
Prior to SweetWork, Michelle was president of her own consulting firm. After graduating from Hanover College with a BA in History, Michelle started her career at the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians where she focused on physician continuing education.

Alice Washington
General Counsel
Alice enjoys solving problems and connecting people. She has practiced law for more than 35 years, primarily in-house where she was able to develop an in-depth understanding of the client's business and strong working relationships with her fellow employees. She is an all-around business lawyer with a focus on corporate organization, SEC compliance, contract negotiation and executive compensation.
After graduating from Virginia Tech, Alice received her law degree from the University of North Carolina. She has enjoyed working in public companies across many industries - Piedmont Airlines, Wachovia Bank, Burlington Industries and RGP - as well as with a start-up business security company and the law firm of Womble Carlyle (now Womble Bond Dickinson). She is now delighted to be working with her former RGP colleague, Doug Lawyer-Smith, as SweetWork's General Counsel.

Eli Lawyer-Smith
Operations Manager
At SweetWork, Eli focuses on operational matters including research, content creation, and social media. He was instrumental in SweetWork's founding and establishing the initial internal processes and systems.
As a senior in Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, Eli will graduate with majors in Accounting and Business Analytics, and a minor in German. He then plans to pursue a master's degree in Accounting with a Data Analytics specialization.
Eli previously interned at RGP as a part of the Client Development Team and at Herff Jones in Accounting and Finance. This summer, he will intern with the EY Indianapolis office.

Tess Lawyer-Smith
Multimedia Manager
As SweetWork's Multimedia Manager, Tess directs, shoots, and edits video content, builds and animates graphics, collaborates with the team on social media content, and handles photography and press releases.
Tess is a junior at Ball State University where she majors in Telecommunications with a concentration in Video Production. In addition to her role with SweetWork, Tess also has experience in documentaries and as a production assistant, and works in the areas of real estate, wedding, and drone videography and photography. After graduating, Tess plans to work in film and television with the goal to be a director.
